Torah is often described as comprising two different kinds of texts: one that is written and one that is spoken. Is it possible, however, that Torah exists in objects that are neither—and if so, which ones? This session will investigate ways in which Jewish art—both visual and aural—speak not just as a comment on tradition, but as a voice within it.
