Unlike almost every other project in the Torah—wars, laws, etc—the command to build the Ohel Moed, or Tabernacle, is one that is done exclusively on a voluntary basis. In this session, we will examine the unique nature of the building of the Sanctuary. After 400 years of obeying taskmasters, what suddenly motivates the Israelites to allow their own voices to be heard? What is unique about the Sanctuary that God allows, this in the first place? Knowledge of Hebrew helpful, but not required.
