Schools are not teaching Hebrew well and many parents no longer see Hebrew as a priority for their children. As a result, a number of Jewish high schools across the country have either made learning Hebrew optional, or are considering doing so. How does this bode for the future of Jewish literacy? Is Hebrew critical to one's Jewish identity? With an eye towards text, history, and personal experiences, this moderated interactive session will explore this pressing issue.
